Purpose
Purpose: Create and maintain cutting edge software products for investment professionals that that enable them to trade with greater confidence and ensure our products achieve quality in terms of reliability, security, performance, stability, scalability, availability, and result accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Program changes and enhancements to Tamarac Advisor, an ASP.Net 2.0/Microsoft SQL Server web-hosted solution
- Work effectively with management and marketing to clarify needs and plan delivery of major product changes, future versions, and new products
- Accurately estimate development time
- Provide responsive support to escalated customer issues
- Ensure adequate testing of all product releases
- Improve our development environment to promote reusable code, easy maintenance and extension of Tamarac software products
- Deliver future versions and additional products within managed expectations for time and budget
- Continually grow skills that enhance your technical leadership and general organizational contribution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field experience
- Minimum 5 years of current software development experience
- Strong web development skills using ASP.NET 2.0
- Proficient C# programming skills
- Familiarity with SQL Server, including TSQL and stored procedures
- Solid grasp of Client/Server fundamentals and Browser/Server interaction and IIS
- Familiarity with other tools, such as XML, Java Script, and.NET Framework
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete challenging software projects

Create, maintain, and conduct detailed test cases on cutting edge software products for investment professionals that that enable them to trade with greater confidence and ensure our products achieve quality in terms of reliability, security, performance, stability, scalability, availability, and result accuracy.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the team you will get to be involved all aspects of testing. The role includes reviewing and writing structured test specifications, implementing test cases/test suites and integrating them into an automation framework, and participating in code reviews and threat modeling. You will also be involved in bug and issue tracking and will be interacting regularly with your peers in Testing, Program Management and Development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field experience
- Minimum 3 years of current software testing experience
- Experience testing in a web-hosted environment
- Experience with automated testing
- Solid grasp of Client/Server fundamentals and Browser/Server interaction
- Familiarity various tools and languages, such as XML, C++, C#, SQL, and the .NET Framework
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete challenging software testing projects

Consulting
Tamarac, a leading Investment Management Software provider, is in search for experienced and talented Professional Services Consultants. The position offers professionals the opportunity to leverage their experience and knowledge of the financial industry while learning Tamarac's product offerings and solutions in use by many of the best managed Wealth Management and Advisory Practices in the US. The ideal candidate will be focused and enthusiastic with a documented track record of success and credibility within the financial services market segment. The individual must be able to excel in managing multiple consulting projects with many stakeholders and thrive in a high-energy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct client site implementations of Tamarac's web-based software, including installation, setup and hands-on training using client data
- Analyze customer's business and technical requirements. Design and implement appropriate solutions
- Craft and enhance client workflows around Investment Policy, Portfolio Management and Trade Order Management
- Configure and automate products to best serve client's procedures
- Serve as consultant on implementations, as well as communicating result to client and project managers
- Facilitate change management initiatives resulting from services offered
- Drive revenue and client success by selling consulting services back into clients
- Analyze and discuss solutions for client's requirements, with regards to 3rd party applications and use of Tamarac's data outside of Tamarac products
- Frequent domestic travel to clients. Travel is estimated at 80% of time. Average length of consulting engagement is three days. Average travel schedule is six customers per month
- Effectively present value to client for cost of service delivered
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years experience in the portfolio management or trading industry is preferred
- Prior consulting experience is required
- Back office workflow and operations experience is highly preferred
- Intermediate knowledge in Windows, Excel, SQL, and the administration of Windows and network is preferred. Demonstrated technical aptitude is required.
- CFA coursework is preferred
- Series 7, 63 are a plus
- Strong communication skills are required
- Ability to gain credibility quickly while on-site is essential
- Ability to be self-directed and work independently is required
- Attention to detail is required
- Ability to bring a project to completion is required
- Must be mindful of time and budget constraints
